Last night Danielle was married in her Indian Bridal wear at the Masala Kitchen in Englishtown . Today she will be wearing white for part II of her interfaith wedding. We are hoping for a rain free day but the weather does not appear to be cooperating. Off too the Eagle Ridge Golf Club !!!

What an amazing weekend and great couple !!! On May 4th Corrine and Steve were married by Reverend George Hapel at St Paul’s Lutheran Church. When I met the Reverend he said” What would you like to do and then I will tell you what you can do!!!. At least he made his expectations clear from the get go. Anyway the service was beautiful. Corrine and Steve planted an evergreen tree as part of the ceremony. After the ceremony we headed over to the Limerick Golf Club in Limerick Pa for a night of celebration. Of course we had the opportunity to run around the golf course to create some fantastic images for Corrine and Steve. The reception ended with Corrine and Steve walking though two rows of sparklers held by friends and family. A few images from thier special day.

Corrine was referred to us by her friend Laura Jones whose wedding we documented on Mary’s birthday in 2011. It’s going to be great to see Laura and her husband Norman again !!!! They were a fantastic couple to work with. We met with Norman and Laura at a Panera Bread in Bethlehem . I will never forget what Norman said to me ” Just so you know this is the most important days of our lives.  No pressure there !!!!

It’s going to be odd not having the camera focused on Norman or Laura !!!!! It’s also going to be great to see them again.

It’s been a while since my last post and the wedding season is here !!!!

This is an OLD image but it is special to me. This was my first wedding and it was shot on 120 film with
my Mamyia 645 and a Metz CL 45 Flash. I started as the Photolab manager at the Chippewa Giant Eagle when it first opened. . As part of thier grand opening special, a lucky couple had the opportunity to win a free wedding package. Since I had a background in photography, they asked me to shoot the wedding for the winning couple.

The bride walk down the produce isle with a violinist playing her wedding song. Immediately after the wedding, the reception was held in the Giant Eagle parking lot. She also won a honeymoon in Hawaii. The vacation was the best part of the package !!!!
I always held the owner of the store in the highest regard. Mr Camp with a high school education started with one fast and friendly convenience store. He increased that number to 7 and then bought his first Giant Eagle franchise store in Rochester Pa. He then opened the Chippewa location. It just proves that hard work and a vision will pay off.

tradeshow and convention. The show was nothing in size compared to Photo Plus in New York City but I enjoyed it more. It was a relaxed atmosphere and not over crowded.

 Everyone one like free stuff so let me get into some of the details.

2. A free lighting seminar from Scott Robert Linn
3. A free Photoshop seminar from Jim Cunningham
4. A free seminar from Rick Sammon

I really enjoyed Scott Robert Linn. This guy is full of energy and know how to get down to the basics with a non nonsense approach. He shows you how to get a lot out of a lighting system when you are on a budget. He discussed a variety of lighting situation and how to get the most out of your strobes.

Jim Cunningham  illustrated Photoshop extraction and how to make composites realistic. He covered quite a but of material and you need a good solid background of Photoshop to understand what the heck he was talking about.

I did not make it to the Rick Sammon seminar. Too bad because I saw Rick at PhotoPlus and I enjoyed his speaking style.

TONS of album companies and some focused in the printing. I dropped by ProDpi. The company comes highly recommended and they had some nice work displayed.

Sigma had a full compliment of lenses to try out. Their new CROP  30 1,4 looks  great and has a solid build. They gave me a 2gig thumb drive with all of their product information.

Wescott had some of their hot lights set up and hosted a model shoot out. They had ton of activity for the model shoot out.

 Photo Tech Repair Service offered onsite sensor and lens cleaning.

SpyderHolster has a really interesting belt system to hold you camera. A unique system with an innovative holster. If you want to take weight off your shoulder, this may be a system to consider.

Spin Light 360 is a unique lighting system for speed lights. I think the system is too bulky and would slow down a wedding photographer. Opinions will vary.

I also stopped by the Davids Bridal booth and had the opportunity to chat with John Steady ( the  New England Network Manager) and Paul Trusty  (one of  the  recruiters) 

In summary, the show was worth attending. I leaned a few things, got some free stuff and met a lot of great people.

As for me, I am on my own and will be shooting the second home game for the SteelCity Stampede a Minor League Football in the Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Sunday I will be heading to the PhotoNorthEast trade show in Tarry Town New York. I will attending a few work shops and the trade show. It is a great learning opportunity and some potential shopping for new gear !!!

Sunday we will be at the Steel Stax in Bethlehem doing an engagement session for Ana and Washington. Our plan is to meet around sunset and capture the great lights at the Steel Stax.  Ana and Washington will be getting married in Bethlehem Pa.  Both Mary and I are excited about documenting thier wedding day.
